Dr. Ani has over 15 years of pediatric experience caring for children. As one of the few pediatricians in Hawaiʻi who is also a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), she provides support for both mother and baby throughout the breastfeeding journey. She considers it a true privilege to care for so many families and values the lasting relationships built through each stage of childhood.

Dr. Ani has known she wanted to become a physician since childhood. Raised by her grandparents who had ongoing medical needs, she began helping care for them at a young age. That early experience shaped her lifelong commitment to medicine and to caring for families with compassion and dedication. During medical school, she discovered her passion for pediatrics and caring for children.

After completing her training at Texas Children’s Hospital, one of the largest and most highly regarded pediatric hospitals in the country, Dr. Ani worked as a pediatric emergency physician, gaining extensive experience caring for critically ill and injured children. During her time in the emergency department, she realized that what she valued most was building lasting relationships with families and providing continuity of care. She wanted a stronger role in preventing illness, not only treating it during moments of crisis. It became clear that her calling was to serve as a child’s pediatrician, a role she considers a profound honor.

Dr. Ani moved to Hawai‘i from Texas and has had the privilege of caring for children and families on the Waianae Coast for eight years. During her time there, she led an initiative to improve developmental outcomes for children in need, strengthening systems for identifying developmental delays and connecting families with appropriate services. She built strong, lasting relationships within the Leeward community and considers it a privilege to be part of many families’ extended ohana.

In 2024, she began working part time at Pediatric Care, closer to home in Kailua. As Dr. Bob Anderson and Dr. Gloria Carlile approached retirement, they entrusted the future of the practice to Dr. Ani. She now practices full time in Kailua, where she lives with her family.

Dr. Ani is married to her husband, Laurent, and they have three children. When she is not seeing patients, she enjoys walking her dog on the beach, hiking, yoga, and cheering on her children's sports teams.
